Today, I am sharing this simple, one dish guacamole recipe. It is an irresistible Mexican dip that combines the creamy goodness of avocados with a burst of tangy flavors. Whether you’re hosting a summer fiesta or simply craving a tasty snack, this simple guacamole recipe is sure to delight your taste buds. Get ready to enjoy a homemade guacamole that will leave you craving for more!
This recipe comes to us from a TikToker who shared a video of the server at a restaurant in San Antonio making the guacamole table side. It looked so simple and yummy that I had to try it.
I’m afraid of a grill/smoker so I did not smoke my tomatoes like the restaurant does but the flavor is still excellent. I also added on some toppings that were on a guacamole I had at a restaurant in Round Rock and absolutely loved so, of course I had to add those in to give it a little punch.

To make this simple guacamole recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- Ripe avocado

Step-by-Step Instructions: Making Simple Guacamole in No Time
This is the easiest part. You literally combine the chopped, diced and juiced ingredients and fold them in to combine.
I prepared it in the video I share on TikTok as it was prepared tableside in the original video, but I would recommend dicing the avocados into bite size pieces before adding all the ingredients together.
Here’s a step-by-step (ooh baby) version:
Step 1: Prepare the avocados:
- Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits.
- Scoop out the avocado flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Dice the avocados into bite size pieces.
Step 2: Add the flavor:
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mashed avocado to prevent browning.
- Add kosher salt.
- Squeeze fresh orange juice over avocados.
- Finely chop the red onion and tomatoes.
- Add these ingredients to the diced avocado.
Step 3: Season and mix:
- Sprinkle salt, and pepper over the mixture.
- Fold and mix all the ingredients together until well-combined.
Step 4: Taste and adjust:
- Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasonings according to your preference.
- Feel free to add more lime juice, salt, or spices if needed.
Step 5: add toppings:
- Top with Cotija cheese and Pepitas
Tips for Customizing Your Guacamole
Now I left out the jalapeños because I am a wimp when it comes to spices, but you can increase the spiciness by adding more jalapeño pepper or even a dash of hot sauce.
Feel free to add cumin and cilantro if you like those flavors. I kept this very simple and enjoyed it. You can experiment with flavors by adding diced mango, corn, or even pomegranate seeds to add some crunch. You could also add a pinch of smoked paprika or chipotle powder for a smokey twist.
The toppings are what really make this guacamole pop for me. Jack Allen’s restaurant in Round Rock, Texas serves theirs with pepitas, aka pumpkin seeds, and cotija cheese. Chefs kiss to the creator of the addition of these items. Pepitas are now my favorite snack ever.
