Growing up, I couldn’t wait for school to start back up again. I was such a nerd and loved going back to school. Organizing my school supplies over and over was such a fun time for me. I would seriously organize that little box of pencils, erasers, etc. every single day. I still organize my desk frequently at work.

But one thing I have never loved is getting up early. I am one of those people who gets up in just enough time to get ready and run out the door. It’s a horrible habit and one the niece and nephews have acquired too.

School for them starts today so my contribution is to get them off and out the door on time and with breakfast in hand. I’m always looking for ways to make things simple for them whether that’s a frozen breakfast taco or overnight oats. When I was trying to come up with a flavor to start of the school year, I was immediately taken back to my Aunt Jovita’s famous (in our family at least) German Chocolate Cake. She would make this cake for every family gathering or if someone requested it. To me it represents family and good memories.

These German Chocolate Overnight Oats are so simple to make. My go to for making them is Silk® Almondmilk. When I saw that Walmart carries Silk® Almondmilk and Cashewmilk with Caramel Bottles on the shelf – meaning you don’t need to refrigerate them until you have opened them – I was so excited.

One bottle makes two servings of overnight oats so they are perfect to have on hand. Add to that they are an excellent source of calcium, 100% cholesterol-free and have no saturated fat. The Silk® Almondmilk Bottles have no added sugar.  Score!
