I was given the BQ Sauce from the Salt Lick BBQ for the swap. I was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.
As you may have read or seen in photos, I recently went to the Food Blog Forum in Orlando, Florida. You can read my recap here. In our Facebook group discussions leading up to the conference, Joelen Tan from What’s Cookin Chicago started a Foodie Swap for those interested in bringing items from our home states to share with other attendees. I jumped on this chance to highlight my beloved state of Texas.
And when you think of Texas, what do you think about? You got it — barbecue. Or BBQ. Or even bar-b-cue. However you spell it, it’s just good stuff. With a little bit of the right barbecue sauce, you have yourself the perfect meal.
When I started thinking about where I could go to get some great sauce to share with my fellow conference attendees, the first place that came to mind was The Salt Lick. They are an Austin staple and have been featured on many a cooking/travel shows for their mouthwatering grub. When I contacted them, they were quick to say they would be happy to donate enough for our entire group. And they shipped it to me so I didn’t have to worry about getting it all in my suitcase! I can’t wait for all my fellow Foodie Swap participants to fire up their grills and slather this amazing sauce on their beef/pork/chicken.
If you are coming in to Austin for Blog Her Food, be sure and stop in at The Salt Lick while you are in town. Or grab some at the airport kiosk on your way out. You will not be disappointed. Thank you The Salt Lick BBQ for your southern hospitality in sharing the sauce with everyone in the group! Be sure and go to their Facebook page and like them.
Here are some photos and links to what others in the group shared as well. I’m still making my way through everything but what I’ve had or shared with friends has been remarkable.
