Oven Baked Strawberry S’mores Bark

July 22, 2016 By denise Leave a Comment

Obviously I have a problem with S’mores. And by problem I mean I can’t get enough of them. But there’s also a secret you need to know about me.

Ok. Here it goes.

I’m afraid of fire. Grilling. No, thanks. I’ll let someone else start it and let them cook my food for me. And yes I did just buy a grill for my patio. It looks so pretty too. Chiminea. I nearly set my patio on fire with the last toasty fire. Done.

Have I told you that secret before? I probably have and I keep repeating it because I want Bobby Flay to offer to teach me to grill. But alas he hasn’t yet so I have to find a new way to make a favorite without the fire pit or grill.

Did you know you can easily make S’mores in the oven. And they are just as heavenly, or even more so, than the traditional way. Made in the oven, they are more bark than S’mores.

I made these twice over the weekend – totally not good for my Diet Bet currently going on but tomorrow is another day. These are definitely on the menu for the niece and nephews birthday celebration next month.

Strawberry S’mores Bark

Ingredients:

7 Graham Cracker Rectangles (leave one rectangle for topping)
3 packages chocolate candy bar
15 jumbo marshmallows
4 strawberries, hulled and diced
Chocolate, melted

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Add Graham crackers to baking sheet. Top with chocolate candy bars. Place in the oven and let chocolate melt for 5 minutes. Take baking sheet out of the oven and spread melted chocolate all over crackers.

Top with marshmallows, leaving a little bit of room as the marshmallows will spread. Bake for 5 minutes more or longer until marshmallows are toasty.

Once pan is out of the oven, gently press down on the marshmallows to spread and cover all the chocolate.

Melt your remaining chocolate and drizzle over marshmallows. Crush remaining graham cracker and sprinkle it over the top and add strawberries.

Serve as is and let people pull apart or cut into bark like pieces.
