5-Minute Eats and a #giveaway

August 30, 2013 By denise 3 Comments

* Disclaimer: I was provided a Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker to try and review. One reader will also have the chance to win one. I was not compensated otherwise. All content and opinions are my own. Post contains affiliate links.

The niece and nephews went back to school a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know about your kids but getting up in the morning is hard for these kids. They take after me and my sis in that regard and love their sleep. It seems like it’s always a rush to get out the door in the morning.

But I saw salvation in June when I attended the BlogHer Food conference. Hamilton Beach had a booth promoting their new Breakfast Sandwich Maker. Sweet! After watching the demo I had visions of making the kids breakfast in 5 minutes! The demos made it look so easy and fun! I was so bummed when I didn’t win one.

So I was super excited when the folks at Hamilton Beach contacted me to try out the sandwich maker. The kids were just as excited as I was to try this out. All other super aunts form a straight line behind me – oh ok beside me!

The machine is really compact. With the easy ready indicator light there is no guessing when it’s ready. And it’s not only for breakfast sandwiches. We tried it with mini pizzas and they were so simple to make. I can’t wait to make other things with it.

Now you also have the opportunity to win your own Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker. See the widget below for different ways to enter.

Canadian Bacon, Egg and Mozzarella Sandwich

Canadian Bacon, Egg and Mozzarella Sandwich

Ingredients:

1 English Muffin, sliced in half
1 slice Canadian Bacon
1 Tbsp Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 egg
Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions:

Preheat Hamilton Beach Breakfast Sandwich Maker until green ready indicator light turns on. Lift cover, top ring and cooking plate.

Place bottom part of the muffin cut-side up on the bottom ring. Add cheese and top with the Canadian bacon.

Lower cooking plate and top ring. Break egg on cooking plate and break the yolk with a toothpick. Season with salt and pepper. Place the other half of the muffin cut-side down on top of the egg. Gently lower the top (don’t push down on the muffin). Cook for 5 minutes.

Enjoy!

The possibilities are endless, but the first sandwich I would make would be sausage, egg and cheese.
