I am all about making dessert simple. And kabobs are so darn cute I’m up for making any dessert into one.
I’ve never made a pineapple upside down cake but I’ve eaten them before. So when it came time to put these together I knew I had to make a little sauce to put on them to give them that flavor that ends up on the pineapple and cake.
I made these little pieces of heaven for our Father’s Day treat and I’d definitely make them for a party. They are super simple to make as everything is ready to put together except for making the sauce.
Pineapple Upside Down Cake Kabobs
Ingredients:
1 small pound cake
1 can pineapple slices
1 jar Maraschino cherries
4 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 c light brown sugar
Wooden skewers
Instructions:
In a saucepan add the butter and brown sugar. Melt together and let cook for a few minutes to combine.
Cut pound cake into small chunks. Cut pineapple slices into four pieces per slice.
Add cake to skewer. Them add a piece of pineapple and cherry. Repeat two more times. Drizzle or pat on the brown sugar sauce onto the cake pieces.
Voila. Enjoy.
