Weight Watchers Quick Oatmeal Cookies

May 30, 2011 By denise 8 Comments

My go to breakfast is the Weight Watchers Maple Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal. At 3 points and the only ingredient to add is hot water it is fool proof and tasty too. So when I saw on the Weight Watchers Message Board that you could make oatmeal cookies with this cup that I usually have for breakfast I said sign me up!

They don’t taste like a traditional oatmeal cookie but for those times when you need a low point (tiny) sweet bite to eat this works.

Quick Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup Weight Watchers Maple Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 c water (or less)

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray cookie sheet with Pam spray. Add baking powder to cup of oatmeal. Gradually add water until thoroughly mixed. Note: you may not need all 1/4 c of water. Form teaspoon size balls and place on cookie sheet. Flatten. Bake for 15 minutes.

Note: you can add mini chocolate chips to the dough for an added treat.

So this ingredient doesn't specify hot or cold water: 1/4 c water (or less) And the instructions have no info about the temperature of the water or when/if to heat it: "... Gradually add water until thoroughly mixed. Note: you may not need all 1/4 c of water. ..." I think that would help.

Thanks for your comment Herman. You don't need to heat the water.

Thanks for this recipe. I make a muffin using the instant oatmeal using either peach or maple flavored, add one egg and 1 tsp. oil, mix thoroughly and cook in microwave for 1 min. DO NOT ADD WATER! Let cool and enjoy. It's not the same consistency as a regular muffin, but is filling and with a cup of coffee makes an easy breakfast.

Barb, they are 3 points for the entire batch. I believe I made three small cookies out of the mixture.

I made these as above but mashed a 1/2 ripe banana and 3/4 tsp PB2 into the mix - makes 2 big cookies! 3SP
