Nutella and Apple Crescent Pies

March 8, 2011 By denise 3 Comments

I admit it. I am addicted to Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. And my latest obsession — Nutella. Combine these two together and I am a very happy girl. Now, combine those two with my past obsession — maple syrup — and I’ll be in heavenly bliss. I’m pretty sure I could just smear some Nutella on a crescent roll and dip that in syrup and I’d be happy.

Nutella and Apple Crescent Pies

Ingredients:

1 apple, cored and diced
1/2 tsp butter
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
2 Tbsp brown sugar
Nutella
1 egg
Powdered sugar
1 pkg seamless crescent rolls

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a small saucepan, melt butter. Add the apples, syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir together and mix well. Add brown sugar and mix. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.

Roll out the crescent rolls. Cut into 6 even pieces. Spread Nutella on each piece of dough. (Note: Although I made these with and without Nutella, I preferred these with the Nutella.) Divide the apple mixture between the dough. Fold over and seal the sides by pressing the tines of a fork all around the sides.

Brush an egg wash on the dough. Bake according to package instructions. After you take them out, sift powdered sugar on the tops. Drizzle with remaining sauce.

Note: I left the peel on the apple but I would advise taking it off.

These look delicious. I love Nutella but it's been a while since we've had any in the house, my husband goes crazy over it!
