Banana Split Dump Cake

August 26, 2023 By denise Leave a Comment

This Banana Split Dump Cake is a delightful treat that is easy to make and bursting with flavors. This recipe combines the classic tastes of a banana split with the easiness of a dump cake. This simple but delicious dessert is a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

My favorite dessert to make, besides brownies, is a dump cake. And my go-to dessert is anything banana split. When I was little, my aunt used to take me to Dairy Queen for banana splits quite frequently. Gosh I miss her. Thus I bring you this Banana Split Dump Cake in Aunt Amelia’s honor.

This Banana Split Dump Cake is a little more involved than other dump cakes that only have three ingredients, but man is it worth the extra few ingredients. And it is still super easy. Most dump cakes just have the boxed cake mix with butter on top but I mix up my cake mix to make it more of a crumb/cobbler topping.

Banana Split Dump Cake

Ingredients you will need:

Crushed pineapple
Strawberry pie filling
Bananas
Chocolate chips
Yellow or white cake mix
Butter
Old fashioned rolled oats
Pecans

Optional toppings:
Cool whip or ice cream
Maraschino cherries
Pecans
Melted chocolate

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. Spread crushed pineapple on bottom of 9×13 baking dish.
3. Top with strawberry pie filling.
4. Slice bananas and place on top of pie filling. 5. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of bananas.
6. In a separate bowl, add melted butter, oats, cake mix and pecans. Mix together.
7. Sprinkle mixture over filling.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cake is bubbling around the edges.
8. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

I do love ice cream with this dessert but I usually don’t buy it or else I’ll eat it all. So, sugar free Cool Whip is my go to and it makes it seem like it’s a little bit healthier.
