Simple Chocolate Covered Oreos decorated in the holiday theme make the easiest treats for your holiday get together.
Can you believe we are already in October? I think I said that about September too, but seriously this year is going by so fast. I’m not ready for Christmas yet. Christmas movies and cooler weather yes, but blog wise and having it over with, um no.
Halloween has never been one of my favorite holidays…until the kids came along. Oh how we had fun dressing them up in costumes. My sister made them Dalmatian costumes one year and I decorated their wagon to look like a fire truck. Oh the cuteness! If only Instagram was around back when they were little and I could have posted without their approval.
I remember one year we had a Halloween party for all the little cousins and we played games and served Halloween themed treats. I used to love putting together theme parties for these kids. And I kind of miss it.
This year I’m incorporating some Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos in with my Halloween treats for family and coworkers. Nowadays I try to make quick treats without a lot of fuss. These Chocolate Covered Oreos fit that description to a tee. I bought these edible markers (food decorator pens) and chocolate candies to decorate the Oreos once they were set. I love watching those cookie videos where they make such beautiful cookies and make it look so simple. Yeah. A cookie decorator I will never be but I had fun making them. I also made some with just sprinkles too. Ok, ok, they look a little childish but you can’t go wrong with this simple treat.
