It was another weekend of watching playoff football so I wanted to make something you would serve at a football party. I am just not a wings person so hamburgers it was. I’m really trying to stay on Weight Watchers so I went in search of one of their burger recipes to try. This burger caught my eye because of the Italian seasoning but next time I would cut down on that seasoning some. Both boys enjoyed it though so it was a success.

Weight Watchers Crispy Onion Rings (Recipe adapted from Weight Watchers)
Ingredients:
3 spray(s) Cooking spray
2 cup(s) Corn flakes crumbs
1 large Egg whites
⅓ cup 2% Milk
¼ cup Flour, white
¾ tsp Onion powder
½ tsp Salt, table, or to taste
⅛ tsp Pepper
1 large Onion(s), uncooked, yellow, sliced into 1/4-inch-thick rounds, separated into rings
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450°F. Coat a large, rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray. Place cornflake crumbs in a ziplock bag. (To get the crumbs, place the cornflakes in a ziplock bag and crush with your hands or a rolling pin until you get fine crumbs.) In a shallow bowl, whisk together egg white, milk, flour, onion powder, salt and pepper until blended.
In batches, dip onion rings in egg mixture (letting excess drip off) and then dredge in a small batch of cornflake crumbs, turning to coat both sides; place in a single layer on prepared pan. Coat onion rings with cooking spray and bake, turning once, until onion rings are golden brown, about 12 minutes; sprinkle with additional salt and pepper before serving, if desired. Yields about 8 onion rings per serving.
