Christmas Treat: Caramel Apple Snowman

December 28, 2010 By denise 2 Comments

Watching the Food Network one night, I saw this adorable snowman the folks at Disney World made out of a candy apple. I knew I had to try my hand at making this cute little treat. Mine was made out of candy apples and marshmallows. I didn’t want to use white chocolate to cover it, so instead I used Marshmallow Fluff. It was so cute!! But I didn’t let it dry before I put on the accessories (eyes, buttons, etc.) so everything kind of melted off like poor Frosty.

Caramel Apple Snowman

Ingredients:

Apple
Caramel sheet
Marshmallow Creme
Marshmallow, medium and large
Mini chocolate for eyes
Hershey’s kiss for the hat
Candies for the buttons and mouth
Fruit roll up for the scarf

Instructions:

Prepare caramel apple according to instructions, including placing stick in the apple. Add large marshmallow and medium marshmallow through the stick. Cover apple and marshmallows with Marshmallow Creme. Allow to dry. Add hat, eyes, nose, mouth and buttons (my mouth is covered by my scarf). Add scarf. Dust bottom with coconut to resemble snow. Voila. Cuteness!!

Sorry I couldn't respond sooner but Blogger was wonky for me. Unfortunately I don't have any tips as I did these last year and can't remember. I do remember that it was hard putting the Creme on the marshmallows. I'm going to try and make ghost candy apples so maybe I'll be able to get some tips when I do it again and post them.
