Hello! My name is Denise Oviedo and I am a Texas gal who loves to cook for my family and friends.
This blog originally started as a way for me to organize the recipes I was using at home. I wanted to be able to have a quick and easy reference for the recipes I made. It has since become so much more as I now enjoy sharing these recipes with others and helping them bring love and joy through foods to their loved ones.
My passion for cooking came from my mother and grandmother. Growing up, one or both of them were always behind the stove cooking down home Mexican meals for the family. In my family, cooking for loved ones has always been a way to share a piece of yourself with others. Nothing makes me happier than to see someone smile after eating something I made for them.
In addition to cooking, I also love photographing anything and everything. You will usually find me taking pictures with either my iPhone or my Canon. As the photos on this blog will attest, I’m a work in progress. If I am not cooking during my spare time, I am spending time with my triplet niece and nephews, watching my favorite sports team or reading a good book.
