I am such a creature of habit that once I latch onto something, I stick with it.
Take Magnolia Market. I’ve been there three times now and I just can’t help myself by going back.
It’s such a design inspiration, if only the prices weren’t out of my budget. Although I do find things that fit in my budget because I never leave there empty handed.
My niece has been with me for each trip there – it’s an hour drive from our home – and she always ends up leaving with more stuff than I do when she doesn’t even spend her money. Go figure.
But this last trip to Waco was for the cupcakes. Give me the promise of a good cupcake and I am there every time.
My waist and hips may not thank you, but my taste buds do.
The treats at the Bakery at Magnolia Market had a lot to live up to. I mean, we are talking about the people who bring us Fixer Upper on HGTV. They redo homes from houses that are practically given away at times and turn them into amazing masterpieces.
I’m sure the clerks at the bakery thought I was crazy because I bought one of each kind of cupcake and two of strawberry and lemon because those are my favorites.
I mean just look at those flavors!
After our romp through the store and purchases in the bakery, my mom, niece and I promptly went to the car, turned on the air conditioner, took photos, then we dove in.
Oh. Em. Gee. That icing.
The cupcakes are good on their own but the icing takes each one over the top.
Creamy, extra smooth, sweet and decadent. Perfection is what I call it.
On our way out of town we saw the Shotgun House that Joanna and Chip Gaines moved and redid on an episode of Fixer Upper.
We also went on the hunt to see the beautiful Magnolia Bed and Breakfast house in McGregor, Tx. Worth the trip.
I can’t wait to go back to the bakery to try out the other treats they have to offer.
