This time of year, I want to eat all of my favorite comfort foods. And because it’s almost time for the holidays, that usually includes pumpkin. But being on the Weight Watchers® program, I am always looking for ways to lighten up some of my favorite dishes. Weight Watchers is my go to weight loss program because it works. When I am on program and track my points, I lose weight. It’s simple. And their Weight Watchers Mobile app is key to my success. It’s so easy to get on there and track everything, find food items to get their points value and my favorite part, the scanner I use while I am grocery shopping.
They also have a recipe builder on their website where you can plug in your ingredients and get the points associated with your recipe – then quickly add it to your tracker. Genius.
This pumpkin mousse is actually an adapted version I got from my Weight Watchers leader. I’m in love with these Triple Chocolate Brownie Bliss bars and immediately knew I wanted to incorporate them into this mousse and make a lightened up dessert for my family and friends. This is the perfect recipe to take for a holiday get together because it is pre-portioned and you know exactly how many points you are using. Your friends and family will thank you.
Another thing I love about Weight Watchers is that their Weight Watchers products are available in retail stores. The first time I saw them at Walmart I almost jumped for joy. Between October 22-25, 2015 they will have demos of their products on select stores: Thursday 12:30-7:00 PM; Friday 12:30-7:00 PM; Saturday 10:00-4:30 PM; Sunday 12:30-7:00. Check this list to see if your store will be having a demo. They have something for everyone – bread, frozen treats, frozen dinners, cheese, snacks – just about anything you need to help you make better choices.
As I continue on my Weight Watchers journey, I’ll be sharing more lightened up recipes for you that include Weight Watchers Plus Points. You can also find more delicious Weight Watchers recipes here.
Give this dessert a try for your next family gathering or just because it’s Tuesday.
