When I think back on how many food-related little habits I got from my dad, it makes me smile. One of those is having Lay’s Potato Chips with a hot dog and dipping the chips in mustard. Have you tried this combo yet? If not, you need to get on it!. The flavor combo is something you wouldn’t expect to work but it does. It just tastes so good and brings a smile to my face just thinking about it.

I already know what my combination would be. Being Hispanic, my family had Mexican food so often growing up that even today it is my first choice for eating out. There is an abundance of flavors that can be combined for any Mexican dish but this is my favorite right now.
Over the holidays, my sister and I got together with a couple of cousins in Round Rock, Texas for lunch. We went to a Mexican restaurant where they serve the most amazing dip – a Creamy Jalapeño Ranch Dip. Hello! And I’m not even a big fan of jalapeños but this combo was the most amazing thing ever.
The first time my cousin told me I had to try it I was like, uh no thanks but then when it was sitting in front of me I couldn’t pass it up. And then I couldn’t stop eating it! So when we got together again I picked the location because I wanted that dip and I wanted my sister to try it. Sometimes you just have flavor combos that call to you. This one definitely did. I think the special touch is that they add tomatillos to the dip too. I can remember my dad using tomatillos in several dishes he would make when I was growing up.
What do you think of my Lay’s flavor combo of jalapeños, tomatillos and ranch dressing? Go enter yours!
