Pie. It should be its own category on the food pyramid. Seriously. My family loves the stuff. My mom is known in our extended family for her Banana Cream and Lemon Meringue Pies. During the holidays, my sister and niece and I jockey for the last piece of pie. We are that crazy for the stuff.
So, you know I know pie. Recently I went to a pie bar where they have so many different types of pies to try. In different forms too. They had these pie dips that I was intrigued by at first sight. I stood there and watched them make it for another customer. And asked questions. Of course I had to try it at home.
This dip is so creamy and scrumptious. And tastes exactly like a bite of banana cream pie. When one of my coworkers tried this dip she said “this is what I imagine heaven is like”. It’s on her heaven menu. Sweet!

Banana Cream Pie Dip
Ingredients:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
3 Tbsp banana cream instant pudding and pie filling mix
2 Tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 oz cool whip lite, thawed
1/2 banana, finely diced
Instructions:
In a medium mixing bowl, add cream cheese, pudding mix, powdered sugar and vanilla.
Using an electric mixer, beat until whipped. Add in cool whip and beat until incorporated. Fold in bananas. (* note: only use bananas if you are going to eat the same day – otherwise they will brown on you.)
Cover and chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
Serve with Nilla wafers and cinnamon graham crackers. Prepare to eat the entire bowl by yourself.
