Yep, you read that right. I put some turkey and cornbread dressing in pie dough then baked them up. I’ve shared a couple of other leftover turkey dishes that you can make and my favorites always include dressing in the mix.
Ok, let’s be honest here. I would eat anything if it had dressing with it. I eat dressing right out of the pan. Sometimes I’ll spread some on bread as soon as it’s out of the oven, fold it over and call it a snack. I can’t help myself! I love the stuff.
These little hand held pies are a new favorite. I drizzled a little leftover gravy on top once I pulled them out of the oven and ate it right up. If you have any turkey and dressing left over, go ahead and put them in some pie dough and bake it up. You’ll be glad you did.
Turkey and Dressing Hand Pies
Ingredients:
Leftover turkey, shredded
Leftover cornbread dressing
Refrigerated Pie dough
Leftover gravy
Instructions:
Preheat oven according to pie dough instructions.
If you don’t have a hand pie maker, you can cut the pie dough into rectangles or circles.
Spread some cornbread dressing on the bottom of pie dough. Add shredded turkey.
Place another piece of pie dough on top and crimp with a fork or place in the hand pie maker.
Bake according to pie dough instructions or until dough is baked.
Take out of the oven and drizzle with warmed turkey gravy.
