Frosted Flakes French Toast

June 3, 2013 By denise 4 Comments

You know how you see an item on a menu and you think I have to try that!

Well that happened to me on my recent trip to Walt Disney World when I saw Frosted Flakes French Toast on a hotel menu. Unfortunately I didn’t have an opportunity to order breakfast when I saw this at the time. So of course I had to make it pronto once I got home.

This recipe combines two of my favorite any time meals. To put them together, genius. The Frosted Flakes isn’t overwhelming but it gives the French toast a little added sweetness. If you’re a fan of both Frosted Flakes and French Toast , you’re sure to like this.

Ingredients:

4 pieces French bread, or any kind of bread
1 egg
3 Tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla
dash of ground cinnamon
1/2 c Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes, slightly crushed
Butter

Optional toppings:

Bananas (or your favorite berries)
Maple syrup

Instructions:

In a small bowl, combine egg, milk, vanilla and cinnamon. Whisk together until thoroughly combined. Place the crushed cereal in a shallow bowl. Dip bread one at a time into the milk mixture making sure to get it on both sides. Then place into cereal coating completely.

Heat a skillet and add butter. Once butter is melted, add bread carefully to the pan. Cook on both sides until done careful not to burn the cereal coating.

Serve with sliced bananas and maple syrup.

Oh man, this looks fantastic! No bananas for me (I hate them with a passion), but any other berry would be delicious! A few years ago, my sister and I made a Captain Crunch french toast that was so decadent, but I love that added crunch from the cereal!
