When my family and I ate at a local restaurant recently, we brought home many items from their market. Among these was a batch of chocolate chip cookies. The bag included the list of ingredients (minus measurements) on their packaging so of course I was challenged to make the cookies.
I got pretty close to the original cookie but the recreated version tasted to me like the Soft Batch cookies I had as a kid. Oh I loved those cookies. Are they even still available?
These were a hit with my mom because of how soft and chewy they are.
Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 c granulated sugar
3/4 c packed light brown sugar
1 c butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips
In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar, brown sugar and butter until creamy. Add vanilla and eggs and mix together.
In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking soda and salt. Add flour mixture into batter and beat until thoroughly combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
Using a tablespoon cookie scoop, drop dough onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 9-11 mins.
