Growing up, a quick meal my mom would make us was cut up wieners cooked with scrambled eggs. To this day, that is one of her grandkids favorite meals. It’s quick, tasty and can easily be adapted. And what is the one ingredient I like to use to adapt different dishes? No, not Nutella, but Pillsbury crescent rolls.
It was a big hit at our house. This would also be good in a flour tortilla as a taco with some salsa or hot sauce.
Wiener and Egg Crescent Dogs
Ingredients:
8 Wieners
3 eggs
Milk
1 Tbsp butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 package Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
Cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Make scrambled eggs by cracking eggs into a small bowl. Add a splash of milk and whisk together. In a frying pan over medium heat, add butter and let melt. Add eggs to pan. Season with salt and pepper. Stir and cook until done.
Take wieners and make a slit down the middle, being careful not to split it completely through. Stuff wiener with eggs. At this point, you can add some cheese on top of the eggs. Wrap crescent roll around wiener. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 11-13 minutes.
