Anyone who reads this blog knows I would have Nutella every day if I could. I can’t believe it took me so long to try it but now that I have, anytime I see a recipe with Nutella in it you know I’m going to try it.
On Saturday the email from Food Network showcased a Bobby Flay recipe for a Grilled Banana and Nutella Panini. (Did I mention I’m crazy about Panini’s too!) I tried it that afternoon and loved it! Next time I’m going to put in some strawberries and pineapple too!
Grilled Banana and Nutella Panini (Recipe slightly adapted from Bobby Flay)
1 banana, thinly sliced
6 slices white bread
Unsalted butter, softened
Spread each bread slice with some of the hazelnut spread. Place sliced banana over 3 of the slices and combine the slices to make 3 sandwiches.
Heat indoor grill to medium-high.
Spread outside of each sandwich with some of the butter and place on the grill, buttered-side down. Grill until golden brown. Spread the remaining butter on the bread facing up, flip over and continue grilling until golden brown.
Remove from the grill and sprinkle with the confectioners’ sugar. Eat immediately.
NOTE: I also made these substituting Raspberry Jam for the Banana and they were so good!
